This month, we are pleased to welcome two new members to our Greater Los Angeles Regional Board, Norfina Joves and Staci Weiss Verk!
Norfina Joves has been an Associate Director with the College Board for over 12 years. She earned her Master’s in Teaching from the University of Southern California (USC) and her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles.
"As a former Family Trainer for PowerMyLearning, I have always been deeply inspired to give back to school communities and to be a part of a meaningful movement that impacts academic achievement. As a newly elected board member, I am humbled to continue to support this amazing organization dedicated to transforming the lives of many students, families, and educators."
Staci is an accomplished executive with a proven track record in the media and entertainment industry. With over 20 years of experience, the Emory University graduate has held various senior leadership roles, driving business growth, forging strategic partnerships, and maximizing revenue opportunities for companies such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Hulu, 19 Entertainment, FOX and more.
Staci, a mother and daughter of an educator, values the impact of a community approach to education with strong connections between teachers, parents and students and wanted to be involved in optimizing education in our Los Angeles community and across the country.
"PowerMyLearning fuels that full circle approach to learning in addition to providing access to continued learning for educators and I am honored to be included on the board of such a transformative organization."
Welcome Staci and Norfina. We look forward to your contributions to PowerMyLearning's mission!
