How PowerMyLearning Aligns with BSAP
We’re committed to building equitable instructional capacity in alignment with BSAP’s top priorities. We will come alongside you and provide the capacity you need to realize those tenets and success measures for students, including improving student rigor, empowering teachers with culturally responsive practices, and helping leaders operationalize these tenets as they lead instructional systems in their buildings.
PowerMyLearning’s Family Engagement: By building strong communication and trust, teachers learn valuable insights from families. Families reinforce high expectations, help students set and work toward goals, encourage meaningful, student-led conversations about what children are learning at school, and support ongoing learning and exploration at home.
PowerMyLearning’s Culturally Responsive Education: All students benefit from seeing a diversity of cultures and ideas reflected in instruction and in their classroom environment, and from engaging in rigorous, personalized learning that connects academic concepts to their lived experiences. Engage students in restorative, relevant, and rigorous instruction.
PowerMyLearning’s Data-Driven Instruction: Teachers view data gathered from formative assessments as actionable information that can be used to best meet each student's needs. Teachers review formative assessment data and anecdotal information to monitor student progress toward learning goals; identify student learning differences, strengths, and needs; and understand class trends.
PowerMyLearning's Rigorous and Relevant Instruction: Rigorous learning ignites student curiosity and shifts cognitive demand from teachers to students. Educators adopt culturally responsive practices to create more rigorous learning opportunities and ensure students build critical thinking by focusing on teaching students how to think, not what to think.
PowerMyLearning's focus on building classroom communities where all students feel they belong: All students have the capacity to engage in rigorous learning-regardless of race, gender, learning differences socioeconomic status, or background. Students need to feel safe , respected, and valued in order to learn.

"The most valuable component in this workshop was PowerMyLearning’s Core Beliefs for Culturally Responsive Education because it made me reflect on my own biases, teaching, and relationships that I have my students and also my colleagues in my school and how I can move forward and continuing working on those."
