Teacher-Reported Outcomes:

  • 94% of teachers improved at using data to support their instruction
  • Majority reported feeling more confident in math instruction after professional learning
  • Teachers identify PowerMyLearning support as critical to their growth

“The PD was really timely and applicable. The program really met our needs and could not have come at a better time. So many times, these things feel like added tasks, and I did not feel like that once this year.”

Our professional learning model provides ongoing, job-embedded support that meets teachers where they are and grows their practice over time.

Empowering Young Learners in a Title I School

san jose, ca Title I elementary school

The Challenge:

After the pandemic, Jeanne R. Meadows faced significant challenges with student behavior and math achievement. Teachers needed support integrating social emotional learning (SEL) with academic instruction while rebuilding a positive school climate.

The Partnership:

Jeanne R. Meadows partnered with PowerMyLearning to implement a comprehensive approach combining SEL-focused professional learning with MathVoice for K-2 students. Teachers participated in ongoing coaching while students and families engaged in weekly math activities.

The Impact:

  • Student achievement: Statistically significant improvement in math achievement
  • School climate: Improved student behavior and strengthened SEL skills
  • Family engagement: Stronger home-school partnerships
  • Teacher practice: Enhanced integration of SEL and academics

“The results of our work with PowerMyLearning far exceeded our expectations. As the study shows, students felt empowered to achieve academically.”

“Making SEL a priority built our capacity as a community to help our students thrive. At the end of the school year, we saw a statistically significant difference in the proportion of students who exceeded or met district math benchmarks.”

Accelerating Early Math Learning

brooklyn, NY high percentage of multilingual learners

The Challenge:

Teachers struggled to engage families in math learning due to language barriers and families’ discomfort with current math instruction methods. Student math achievement lagged behind district benchmarks.

The Partnership:

Teachers implemented MathVoice across grades K-2 with intensive professional learning support. The multilingual platform helped families engage in their home languages, participate in their child’s learning, and share meaningful feedback with teachers.

The Impact:

  • Math achievement: 28pp increase in students meeting grade-level benchmarks
  • Student-family relationships: 92% of families reported stronger relationships with teachers
  • Multilingual access: Successfully engaged non-English speaking families

“One of our goals is to ensure that every scholar has rigorous instruction. PowerMyLearning supports this by providing adaptable, multilingual resources that help students build a strong math tool belt and explain their mathematical thinking both in class and beyond.”
